Smartphones running out of battery power in the middle of
the activity was a bitch. Moreover, if the power bank which used to be a
'weapon' emergency not be taken along.
Fortunately, a group of researchers from the University of
Bristol successfully developed a solution to the problem. In fact, do not just
charge your own device, this solution allows users to share power with others.
The technology called PowerShare is a true wireless charging
based technology that is currently used in smartphones commonplace. But here,
the researchers made a special circuit, so that charging can be done through
other devices.
Quoted from the Daily Mail, Tuesday (24/05/2016), the researchers
used a QI-based circuits to be used in the signal receiver, while the Class E
amplifier circuits used in signal sender.
Each component was placed on a smartphone with a system of
two coils, namely the recipient and sender. Electricity moving coil creates an
electromagnetic field and then sent to the other coil.
The workings of the system that is placed on a smartphone or
smartwatch is also quite easy. Users simply touching one device to another and
automatically the device will be charged.
Based on research, the charging for 12 seconds using
PowerShare enough to give the ability to call for a minute. While charging for
two minutes can provide power for watching videos for four minutes.
Although the way that offered relatively attractive and easy,
investigators still continue to improve. One concern is the amount of power
used to charge other devices.
The researchers did not deny transfer power wirelessly to
spend more energy than using a cable. According to the researchers, the
received power of a device is only half the power output of other devices.
Therefore, now researchers continue to develop these
technologies both in terms of use, interactivity and security with the learning
into use.
